All of their emails are very clear and easy to understand, and they spend the time to explain things when you call with questions. They were super organized and sent me everything that I needed early enough so that I had time to get the information they were requesting.

I was extremely fortunate several years ago to have been referred by a realtor I trust to Amanda Stewart at The Leaman Team-Lending. Until I met Amanda, I had no idea this stellar level of customer service and professionalism existed in lending! In contrast, I cannot believe how I’ve allowed other lenders to treat me in the past. It’s kind of like dentistry- until you switch to a caring provider, you think all dentists could care less about pain.

I very rarely write reviews. But this will benefit a lot of people. This is how my last 2 home purchases have went with Amanda:

I asked for a loan. Amanda told me what documents to send her. She prequalified me. She locked in a rate. We closed 3 weeks later.
Plus, she found every possible way to save me money. She is attentive to detail and respects your time. Instead of attempting to list all her great attributes as a subject matter expert in mortgage lending- I can sum it all up with this: You will feel like you are her only client.

Our realtor recommended the Leaman Team to us based on his experience with them, noting their attention to detail, professionalism, high standard of customer service and overall knowledge of the mortgage lending process. We started off by contacting Mr. Max Leaman. His response to our inquiry was lightning quick, even emailing us late into the night answering all the questions. This on its own was highly impressive to me. Once we started the initial loan process, Ms. Amanda Stewart was assigned to our portfolio to guide us through the detailed process of a buying a home, the steps we needed to take to receive a higher loan amount, etc. Ms. Stewart was/is absolutely amazing in her attention to detail, her above and beyond customer service, overall demeanor and her patience with our dozens of questions, which subsequently helped us remain calm as we navigated the loan process. I was in disbelief that they could have that many 5 star reviews, but those stars are well deserved. We had been burned in the past by a broker who used Quicken to fund us. The day before closing, they mixed up some info and we lost the house, so we were apprehensive. Add that we had to close by the end of the shortest month of the year and had already lost a week because of a slow moving broker. Anyways, they were amazing, confident, and were constantly reachable Thanks y’all for getting us into our home. Amanda and Erika, you are amazing!

As a newbie homebuyer and doing it on my own, I was quite nervous about the process, working with the team made it so much easier. Max helped us out at a very volatile period of the market (November 2017 election period). He helped us get the best possible rate with a built-in-option, free of charge! Furthermore, when the closing date had to be pushed for about ten days, he extended without any issues. Everything went very smoothly. I had to find the pros, and what I wanted was a great deal and great service. Max Leaman team, that is what they offered. At the beginning of our home search, I didn’t fully appreciate how disastrous it would be to have a last-minute glitch with our loan. Jori is solid: She’s direct (but totally nice), she is lightning quick to respond to emails or calls, and she and her team are meticulous and intense about making sure every detail is perfectly aligned towards meeting the close date. Incidentally, I called Jori based on reviews here on Yelp. A month or two later I called realtors, and chose to work with another Yelp superstar, Don Powers with Dwell Realty. I told him I was working with a mortgage person I also found on Yelp, and he said “let me guess — Jori Stern.” Not only did he rave about her ability to get deals closed, she had just done a mortgage for him.

My realtor, Jane Amschwand, recommended Jori and it was a no brainer to go with her. She walked me through my options, made it super simple and easy to get all the right documents together to get approved, and then speedily churned out the pre-approval letters until I finally got a house I love in this crazy Austin market. Nothing about buying a house was simple, but everything about my financing was, I felt super comfortable going in to close, and I would use Jori again in a heartbeat (though I sincerely hope not to be buying a house again any time soon!).

We bought our home in Austin while still living in San Francisco, and Max and his team were there for us from the first moment we started exploring this move in the Fall of 2015, up until we signed the closing contract in late May of 2016. Max was recommended to me by my real estate agent and I’m so glad she did. Max coached me through the process and gave me very solid advice about how to go about getting our first-ever mortgage (as life-long renters, my husband and I had no clue) and was always a phone call away throughout this extremely stressful process. He even called me as he was leaving for vacation just to check that we were OK as he could tell I was a nervous wreck. I trust his opinions completely–he is almost like speaking with a financial advisor–and he always steered me in the sensible direction (even if I didn’t always want to hear what he had to say). Max can be very direct, but he’s got a sense of humor and I always knew he was looking out for our best interests. If you want a mortgage broker who is honest and trustworthy, and knows the business inside out, Max and the team at Leaman Realty are a great choice. We will be going back to Max when the time comes to refinance and look forward to working with them again. Oh, and we love our new home and Austin, too!

This time we decided to give Max a try since they were local and came recommended. Very smooth process and they kept me informed so I knew what was going on all the time. I had started with another lender that had assured me that all was well with my loan and just as docs were getting written up, everything fell apart. My real estate agent reached out to Max as soon as this occurred and within an hour I had my loan transferred over to the Leaman Group. Like so many others, we were looking to purchase a home in the ever growing popular town of Round Rock TX, and had been prequalified several times, only to have them drag their feet when we bid on a home and the actual preapproval time came. The communication from all of the team was outstanding and I always knew where we were in the process- which was important, as we were striving for a 30 day close and a holiday weekend sandwiched in the middle. Being newcomers to Austin from another state, we were working with a national mortgage company and the process was so cumbersome and difficult. Our agent suggested working with Max Leaman and I can honestly say that Max and his team really got the job done. Our loan was closed quickly and efficiently. The whole team was very responsive, which is very important to me. Another big plus is their positive attitude and the ability to make my difficult condo mortgage happen. Some condos like mine are extra difficult to close, but they worked through it all with me. I couldn’t be happier and would definitely work with them again in the future. The Leaman Team made it happen for me. I was looking on how to add on to our home. I called local credit unions the bigger well known banks, none of them would help me out.
