Then, our realtor independently suggested we work with him. We had a introductory call and his rates were not only BETTER than any big bank or credit union, but the turn around time and process was so much easier. When dealing with Max and the team you really feel like they have your back. I don’t think a bank or even credit union will give you their cell number to call or text should you have questions. They really care and do an excellent job moving things along quickly. We were approved and all the paperwork was taken care of in only about 2 weeks, even though I had just started a new job. It was our first home purchase and we’re grateful to have gone with Max and his team. They are top of the line in all aspects of what you could want. We’re into doing things locally, and the Leaman Team was perfect for that.

I have done 11-12 personal real estate transactions in 30 + years and have never had an experience that came close to the positives. No surprises, professional, thourough/tended to the details, had creative ideas, good rates, and the responsiveness unparalled.
They get what client service is and in today’s business world where often there is marketing sizzle and not much steak, it was a very welcomed and enjoyable experience.

5 year and a Originally I had signed up for a mortgage loan with Chase Bank who promised me a closing date of 45 to 60 days.

Chase also told me that I only qualified for a 30 year plan and a 4.1 % interest rate. After 85 days of pestering Chase to get me to closing I finally fired them and found lender. Withing a day, my loan agent was able to qualify me for a 15 year plan and a 3.85% interest rate with a closing date of 35 days. They handled everything and I just got my funds. They did everything so fast and so efficient. I dont know why anyone would choose another lender.

a lifesaver when I was trying to get a loan for a condo. I live in Houston and was having trouble finding a company that knew how to/was willing to give a loan for a condo. It was a holiday weekend and I really wanted to put an offer on this condo ASAP, so I called The Leaman team. so helpful and I was able to get a pre-approval letter very quickly. extremely knowledgeable and easy to get in touch with. The process was as easy as it could have possibly been. Even my realtor was pleasantly surprised with how smoothly everything went for us, despite the fact that The Leaman Team is based in Austin. Max Leaman and Janey are the definition of pro’s. Our closing was so smooth and the process is so user friendly. It almost seems like it didn’t happen. I was introduced to lending through my realtor, who was nervous about the lender I chose (just out of the air). They had quoted me at 4.25%-4.50%. Now I have to say I have a rough credit history, so I was willing to trust the rate given me. Then My Realtor said you have to call MAX LEAMAN!! “He is the best in town”. Max told me right off the bad I was getting a bad deal and said he could do 4% at least. The other company quickly matched it and grumbled about Max. The thing is if it was that easy why didn’t they do it in the first place? It was Max’s honesty that made me switch. Honesty and integrity. The following weeks were a constant Barrage of paperwork and signatures that Janey made so simple. She was hyper-available for any questions I had then they made my dream a reality. Oh…I almost forgot…that 4% I told you about…Max got me down to 3.75%! $40,000 savings in interest over my loan. There is a reason you’re the best in town and I’m living in it!!! A++++

After searching the rates with one of those online mortgage companies, we decided to work with a local company to purchase our home. I had always been under the impression that home buying was going to be at least difficult – it’s certainly involved, but the Leaman Team really made it smooth and easy to navigate. After months of shopping for a home, we finally found exactly what we wanted, but an offer was already in on it. We had less than 24 hours to get our offer in, and we didn’t even have a prequalificaiton letter… and it was a Saturday. No sweat. Jori had it taken care of within a couple of hours, including the prequalification letter. We knew we were clear to close days in advance, and when we did close, it was perfect and easy. Next time I’m on the market, I know exactly who I’m calling.

He explained the lending process, helped with paperwork questions and even clued me in on buying/renting out property in the future.
Once my husband and I found the perfect house, he was on it immediately: responding to emails and phone calls after regular businesses hours and keeping me up-to-date with everything (and it’s A LOT)! He even made sure to keep checking loan interest rates to make sure I got the best rate up until the very last minute!
He has so many great reviews and it’s because he is down-to-earth and just plain awesome. You definitely need to go talk to him!

I was never handed-off to other people to help me close my loan. The other guys had me wade through a series of “specialists” to handle different parts of the process, none of whom seemed to care. My loan officer from Max Leaman wanted to help and was always available to answer questions and help. I will DEFINITELY call Max Leaman the next time I’m looking for a mortgage or refi.

I spent a year looking for the right house. During that year I sent lots of emails with questions and they were always helpful and willing to make sure I had what I needed. Once we found a home to buy, the closing date was a short timeframe but they got everything done very quickly and met the deadline. The best part about everyone at Max Leaman is the customer service and response times. Whenever I called, the phone was answered immediately — I don’t think I ever had to leave a voice mail. And emails were always responded to very timely. I don’t plan on needing another mortgage soon but if I do I wouldn’t call anyone other than Jori Stearn and the Max Leaman team.

I went into this process with little to no hope of even being able to qualify. Amanda Stewart is PHENOMENAL! She offered us suggestions at the beginning to improve our scores, answered so many questions at all hours of the day, and was nothing but patient and helpful. The entire team, including Max himself, were responsive, attentive, honest, and eager to assist on every turn, when we purchased our second home. Not once did a question or concern go unanswered, no matter the time of day it was asked. It was an absolute pleasure working with all of them. Rarely does the person with their name on the door interact with the clients, but that was not the case here, Max was involved every step of the way. Two points I will remember for a while: 1. Max answered his cell on a Saturday during which seemed to be his personal time and answered a few quick questions politely and professionally and 2. Three years ago, my wife and I purchased a condo and became frustrated with the bank servicing our FHA mortgage loan. The bank told us the PMI would go away after having 20% equity in our condo. When we reached the 20% magic number instead of wiping out the PMI, the bank almost doubled the amount per month! After we complained we were told nothing could be done because FHA changed the rules! Can anyone believe such nonsense? That’s when we decided to refinance with another institution.
After searching and receiving what appeared to be two good refi offers with low interest rates, our due diligence paid off. These two offers turned out to be questionable and bogus at best.
Then we found the Leaman Team! Jori and Limari, two truly outstanding members of Leaman took us on a refreshing and rewarding journey that led to one of the most thorough, courteous and prompt refinancing results in about 30 days! Emails were sent to us by these two wonderful ladies with specific and detailed instructions on what we had to do and were answered in less than 24 hours, followed by phone calls from them to us to make sure we understood the progress and to answer any questions or address any concerns. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect such service! We are 1,000% Satisfied beyond our wildest dreams! Closing was so smooth; and at the end of the day, we saved the monthly PMI charge plus our mortgage payments are much lower now!

In fact, I am convinced that there is not a better mortgage company to work with in Austin. Max and his team not only provide the best customer service you could hope for, they are incredibly knowledgeable and efficient at what they do. Max and his team took all of the stress and guesswork out of the qualifying and home buying processes. In fact, their efforts left me with very little work to do myself period. Though I understand that Max and his team are kept incredibly busy, there was not a single moment that I didn’t feel as though I was their only client. I could’t imagine putting my confidence in anyone else.
Max and his team are extremely communicative and efficient. I was never asked to do the same thing more than once and was kept abreast of how everything was progressing, by phone and email (I accomplished my home buying process almost entirely from the state of Florida while my husband was overseas on a military deployment). Max and his team worked incredibly quickly throughout the entire process. After explaining my situation and expectations to Max and his team, they worked to move heaven and Earth to help us secure and close on our home in ONE MONTH with a VA loan. If you are unfamiliar with the mortgage process, or with a VA loan for that matter, please understand this is no simple feat. When I found the Leaman Team, I thought it was too good to be true. I thought it was too goo to be true when everyone else said it was too good to be true. But, really it’s not. The Leaman Team is awesome!
Some big positives: 1) The one-time drop down feature for locking in an interest rate. I was able to drop our interest rate down before closing to save myself money. 2) Amazing customer service. Emails are responded to in lightning time. 3) We had a late closing on our house and were worried it wouldn’t get funded if it was after 5 o’clock. I called them and they assured me that they don’t go home until the loan funds. You can’t beat that kind of service. 4) No problems at all! Getting pre-approved, closing, all the paperwork. It as all as smooth as can be.
Honestly, I can’t think of a business I’d have more confidence recommending. My fiance’s sister moved to Boise, Idaho and I reached out to the Leaman Team to see if they could help her out and I thought there wasn’t a chance they could since they’re in Austin. Nope! They can service nationwide. So. Awesome. 5 stars and more!

She was courteous really helpfull and extremely diligent in getting our first loan application completed and approved. After searching we didn’t find a house so decided to wait for another year.
The past 6 months we started looking again and Jori was great at remembering our situation knowing what we were looking for and got us approved in no time.

Getting your credit hit multiple times for a house KILLS whatever credit you have so do yourself a favor.
My husband and I were rolling around the idea of purchasing a house, so I first started talking with our credit union to get some ideas about the process, underlying costs, etc. Turns out they were running our credit and I had no idea. I didn’t NOT tell them to because I didn’t know that’s what this part of the process was, but this was also February and we weren’t looking to buy until the summer and they didn’t ask, so… When you don’t know what the heck you’re doing hindsight is definitely 20/20.
I wasn’t pleased with the lack of communication we received from the credit union, so I moved on to a lender that my real estate agent recommended. He didn’t listen and lacked communication as well, but I knew enough at this point not to let him “run [our] credit while [we] make a decision as to whether or not to go with him!” What? People do this? We moved on.
We reluctantly tried another lender that our agent recommended and he was great. He answered all our questions, spent lots of time on the phone with us, everything I wasn’t getting from the first two places. He ran our credit, but gave us a percentage rate that was a little higher than everyone else I knew buying a house at the same time was getting, and our credit scores were in the high 700’s and 800’s. When I talked to him about it, he lowered it – yay! Turns out he charged us for points without telling us and when I brought it to his attention he acted like it was no big deal. Moving on, again.
So I asked some other friends who were in the process of buying and selling who they recommended and they said hands down Max Leaman (as did several other people I spoke to). From the moment I first called and got on the phone, it was super smooth, she answered all of my idiotic first-time-homebuyer questions, responded to calls and emails after hours (since she works like crazy), and everything was done on time and without issues. came to our closing, and we even received a return address stamp with our new address on it after we moved in among other small gifts here and there throughout the 6 months since closing.
Despite getting hit for a mortgage loan three times in total, it was worth the hassle to finally find Max Leaman and have our home-buying process go so well. I don’t think we want to go through this again anytime soon, but I know who we’ll call when we do.
Everyone I worked with was very helpful and they worked to my schedule and timeline.

We worked with loan officer Jori Stern, who was always very responsive and helpful. Our realtor had recommended Max’s team because they always close on time, and we put that to the test. We originally had to set our closing date at just over three weeks after signing our contract, and Jori promised us they could get it done despite the fact the Thanksgiving holiday fell a week before closing. Then for a number of reasons we had to push the closing date up several more days with less than two weeks from closing, and Max’s team came through for us and got everything taken care of. On top of working their butts off to ensure a smooth closing, everybody at the Leaman Team that we dealt with was friendly and professional, and extremely well organized. If you want to close on time (or early!) and want to work with a great group of people, look no further.
I found Max Leaman online one weekend, after I was fed up with all the other mortgage companies, that did not meet my expectations.

I haven’t know him for long, but within such a short span of time he has gained my trust so well that I had no doubts having him as my lender. Since i was new to the process, I surveyed multiple lenders but no one made me more comfortable than Max. He scheduled multiple appointments with me just to make sure I was fully aware of things. But it can also be a stressful experience; however, if you contact Max Leaman and his professional associates, the whole lending experience is second to none. We used the Leaman team in 2006 for our first move in Austin, and because of their expertise, we contacted them again in July 2014 for a move from Cedar Park, TX to Ocala, FL.
