We contacted her back in October and just just closed on our brand new home last Friday. From the very beginning we figured loan approval would be a long shot considering we’re self-employed. With guidance we accomplished more than we thought possible. We hit a few road bumps the last couple weeks where I was literally ready to go in postal mode but never got discouraged or lost hope. To say we were extremely excited at the closing would be an understatement. I can assure you that if it is possible The Lehman Team will find a way. We were very impressed with her promptness and her professionalism in getting our loan funded. Jori provided us various options on our loans and answered all our questions on them patiently. She provided comparisons between different options and was happy to explain what each line item was about when we had questions.

We’re from California and all our transactions were done remotely. Jori assisted us with our loan documents, document signing and through escrow. She made sure that even when she was out of town for a couple of days, we were taken care off by via her colleague.

Overall, we are very impressed with Jori and recommend her without any reservations.

Max and his staff are some of the most professional and experienced in the industry. I wish I could clone them! Max and Jori were always so responsive and understanding on our numerous requests for pre-approvals and estimates, replying within minutes! The reviews are spot on and definitely made buying my first home a breeze. I originally was looking in Austin but transferred the search to California. Max insisted he could still help out and I’m so glad I stayed. He always answered the phone or called me back promptly the same day. When I needed pre-approval letters for offers he emailed them to me in minutes, yes minutes. The whole team is ridiculously on top of their game.

Everyone, even my real estate agent, insisted on not using an out of state lender. After seeing how responsive and professional the Leaman team was, they all did a 180 and were flat out astonished with their level of service. My real estate agent stated Max was flat out the best lender he’s seen in 20 years of service.

They’ve got the best rates and I will use Max and the team to purchase my next home without a doubt!

The first person I contacted was Max to try and figure out our budget, so we could have a good idea of where to start.

I found Max and he exceeded my expectations every step of the way. Max was extremely responsive and thorough from day one. I emailed back and forth with Max over the course of a year, with a million questions, and he walked me through the entire process.

We finally found our dream house, and we felt so good about the amount for the down payment and our mortgage payment because Max helped us to set a realistic budget where we would be comfortable.

Once we decided to put an offer in, Max walked me through each line of our settlement statement and he explained everything in detail with me, which helped me to really have an understanding of where our money was going, and exactly how much we would need for closing on our house. When it came time to close, Max’s team had everything completed EARLY which is unheard of, and we were able to move into our new house before Christmas, which was amazing!

Max and his team were extremely professional, thorough, friendly, and most importantly, they walk you through the process step by step. Buying a house is one of the biggest decisions that you make in life, and it was such a joy to have a team that I could trust to help us through the crazy process of purchasing a home.
I would highly recommend Max to anyone looking to buy a house! I will not go to anyone else when the time comes to find a new house in the future.

I was working with another lender and very stressed due to my mortgage broker’s lack of performance and lack of focus. The home I was buying needed to close by the end of the year. Oddly enough, fate stepped in and I found Max.

I was calling my lender to have a very serious conversation and accidentally called Max’s number instead. I was ranting about being unhappy with Max (not realizing I had called the wrong guy) when Max interjected…”I think you may have the wrong number, but “I am” a mortgage broker and would be more than happy to help you” I explained that I was between a rock and a hard place, that changing brokers mid-stream would cause me to loose even more precious time. I shared the details of my situation and he said no problem “I can do it…I can make that deadline”….and he did. From that moment on the process was so easy. Everything happened…click…click…click…the parts just fell into place …allowing us to closed early.

This is my second home purchase, my first home purchase was a nightmare and felt very disorganized to the point that I almost threw my hand up in the air and walked away from the entire deal.

From when I started working with Jori and the Leaman team from getting pre qualified and being very well informed of what I could really afford. And taking the time to break down what my payments would look like for real. Instead of just giving you a number and saying this is what you qualify for, then you get that surprise at the closing table.

I ask alot of questions and I am a 14 veteran which can mean I ask lots of questions. But regardless of the question the leaman team put alot of time and effort into answering all my questions to great extent, which keep me comfortable during my home buying process.

Jori is buy far the best that I have worked with when dealing with VA Lenders. Compared to my last home buying experience. I felt she really knew what she was doing! She simply gave a list of items I needed to get for her and that was that. She was definitely on the ball, I didn’t get asked for any additional copies of documents, statements that I had already submitted. Next thing you know I had a earlier closing date that I had hoped for and I was at the closing table prepared with no additional surprises. My opinion thats the way it should be!

So I would definitely recommend working with the Leaman Team especially if you are using a VA Cert.

When I saw the 5-star rating for the Max Leaman team, I was leery of this based on working with mortgage lenders in the past.

I even hear horror stories of friends using big banks and not being able to close on time. My experience with the Leaman team was the exact opposite, thank goodness!

One of my “fears” about getting a mortgage is the underwriting process. On loans in the past, it always seemed like when the underwriters were asking for information, they needed it last week and were mad when you did not give them an immediate response. I started calling them every day to see what they needed since they threated my closing date.

When working with the Leaman underwriting team, they explained the underwriting process up front and were amazing to work with. And of course, we closed on time! Thank you Leaman team!

I started out thinking I was going to be a smart buyer and use one of those “online” mortgage brokers to find a good deal and process the home loan on my first ever home purchase.

Wow was that a mistake.

The other guys (whose name rhymes with “Frickin”) were really just low-rent sales people. When I had legitimate questions about my situation and my proposed loan they were slow to get back to me and didn’t give me straight answers.

Then I found Max Leaman.

Max’s team is second to none. Right after my first email conversation with a member of his team I felt more comfortable, and more like a person than with any other banks I’d spoken with.

I pretty much immediately filled out all of their prequalification items and had decided even before they gave me the rate that I was going to use them. The loan officer even identified something on my credit which HAD to be resolved prior to closing any loan — no one else had even mentioned this, and Max’s team pointed it out and provided advice on how to clear it up before I was ever obligated to do business with them.

Once I found my dream-home I promptly called the Leaman team and told them to get cranking on processing my loan — and crank they did! We closed in 30 days, and remember I’m a first time home buyer with an FHA loan and questionable previous credit. They made it happen!

Throughout the entire process I was kept informed, updated, and in-the-loop.

I really couldn’t ask for more out of a loan officer and I can’t recommend Max Leaman and team highly enough.

My husband and I are extremely pleased with the service, professionalism and friendliness of the Prime Lending Team with Max Leaman.
We initially started with a different mortgage company and after a excuse after excuse of why the refinance of our mortagage contined to be postponed we finally told the company to close our file. That company took up an entire year of our lives…very aggravating.
Finally, after reading about Max Leaman at Prime Lending and his team we decided to contact them after canceling our loan with the other company. I was first caught off guard with how nice, friendly and understanding they were of our situation and they were really surprised and couldn’t understand why the other company could not close the loan.
Even before seeing our actual numbers and credit reports they told us that we would be closing on Nov 1 (30 days after initial contact). I was impressed but skeptical due to our most recent experience. During the process they were very easy to get ahold of, answered all of our questions promptly and did everything they said they would do on time.
To our pleasant surprise, we closed on Nov 1, the day that they quoted us during our first conversation. We were so excited we couldn’t believe it!!

Closed on-time in 25 days even with delays on the seller’s side and the Christmas holidays. I started this process with my conventional bank and felt like I had to spend time and effort double checking everything as they kept getting my name/address/previous employment wrong. Assuming that all mortgage lenders are the same I didn’t really look for anything else until my realtor serendipitously put me in touch with Max.

With him there wasn’t a second of worry, everything happened so smoothly and efficiently. He anticipated every potential issue and addressed them quickly. My wife and I are self-employed and were having trouble getting Chase, Bank Of America, etc to really go to bat for us. I found Max and decided to give him a shot – he was the only lender that actually appeared to WANT to help us. Self-employment can be tricky with our income vs. business income, etc, but he never once led us to believe it would be difficult to qualify. I found Max Leaman and am glad I did. The entire process, from application to closing, was efficient and accurate – no issues whatsoever. I closed in about three weeks on a home purchase with a conventional loan.

I compared fees among many brokers and Max Leaman’s were the most competitive. Many other reputable and/or recommended mortgage brokerage services have a long list of junk fees with twenty different names and “costs” for the same junk (processing fee, application fee (the most offensive), settlement fee, document prep fee, administrative fee, underwriting fee….). Max Leaman’s fees are minimal and reasonable.

I’m in Houston, along with the house, the sellers, and the title company. Max Leaman is in Austin, which did not present a challenge:. all interaction with Max and team was done over the phone, email, and/or secured/encrypted Cisco mail.

My experience with the Leaman Team was excellent from start to finish. This was my first time buying a home.

I was really worried when the first lender told me they could only offer me an adjustable rate mortgage because the condo I was looking to buy was considered non-warrantable. I started looking for a company to refinance my mortgage by doing a Google search. I sent an e-mail inquiry to the first listing on Google. Only a moment later, my telephone rings and I start a conversation with a fast-talking BS artist who quickly reminded me of the Used Car Dealer that I once worked for.

I did a quick Google search on that company. Nothing but complaints came up. I searched for comments on my current mortgage company, not one that I chose, but one that bought my loan from my previous lender. Again, nothing but complaints and problems came up.

So, I decided to search for the company that was rated the best A+. The Max Leaman Team came up.

I went to the Leaman Team web site and filled out their preliminary inquiry form. The next morning, I was contacted by Ms Jori Stearn. Jori worked with my wife and me all the way through the refinance process. She was very prompt, professional and kept in close contact with us all the way. They set a close date that was only about four weeks away from the date of my original contact with them. I had my doubts that we could really make that date, but it did happen just as Jori promised that it would!

Later on, after we had submitted the required financial information, we were contacted by Jori’s associate, Ms Janey Alcorn. Both Jori and Janey worked with us closely to acquire all the information that they needed. They gave us a very competitive rate and were very professional throughout the entire process.

A Notary Public service sent an agent to our home on the close date that was initially promised. All of the papers were signed and our loan was funded within the tight schedule that was originally promised.

The Leaman Team works like a well-oiled machine. They delivered what they promised. They were very prompt, professional and downright NICE throughout the process!

We could not have been happier and we would definitely use them again.

These guys are nuts!! They closed my refi in less than 3 weeks!

I came to Max with a huge dilemma. I needed to do a cash-out refi on my investment property in Houston and I only had 3 weeks to do it. Apparently, there was a Fannie Mae guideline that permitted the “cash-out”, using the delayed financing exemption, but you had to close the refi within 6 months of the purchase. Of course, I was at 5 months and 1 week when I realized this. From the beginning, Max assured me that it wasn’t a matter of IF we can close, but WHEN we can close. Sure enough, he was a man of his words. I evaluate lenders on 4 criteria: service, ability to close, communication/promptness, and price (in that exact order). The Leaman Team, which includes Max, Jori, and Billie Ann scores a 10 in all these areas. I can’t wait to do business with them again!

I do not like to use the computer so I really liked the fact that every step could be conducted in their office.

Max and his team were great! I have never had such good and prompt service in all my years of getting a mortgage. I had been dealing with another mortgage company and I was getting tired of waiting it had already been 3 weeks. I called, and Max answered. I told him my situation and filled out the application on line. He called the next day and said that we were approved. 3 weeks later we closed on our house. I would highly recommend them to anyone. From the beginning, prior to pre-approval Jori was over the top helpful. Jori and her staff helped with the purchase of our home in Texas while we were still living in Oregon. As you would expect, this could be a challenge at times. Not for Prime Lending. Communication was promptly answered. We knew we could contact Jori via e-mail or phone. Closed without any issues and when we requested to suddenly try to get our paperwork in order to close early, they said no problem we will do what we can. We closed a week early. My husband and I cannot express how painless buying our house in Texas became after deciding to use Prime Lending. Forever grateful.

I chose Prime Lending/Max Leaman’s office and was not disappointed. I filled out the intake information on their website and someone contacted me within a day. That person (Jori Stern) was my contact through the entire process. Every time I considered a house or made an offer, Jori would provide me with a new estimate of the monthly payment, closing costs, etc. Every time I had a question, she answered promptly. Jori and her team made sure I was ready to close on time, and sent the funds the day before closing so the loan funded very quickly after I signed. I could not have been happier and I would definitely use them again.

Max is very helpful. He took the time to explain everything to me, even inquiring about tricky concepts and whether i fully grasped them.

This was my first mortgage, and the legalese bandied about so casually by those immersed in the field can be very intimidating. There were acronyms i’d heard so often that i didn’t even realize i didn’t know what they were. Max explained these things to me, which made me feel a lot more comfortable with the process. It was even more impressive that Max gave me this additional time, because i was in a situation where i was told i wasn’t approved for a mortgage only eight days before i was scheduled to close on the house i’d been building for six months. I was pre-approved before we even broke ground, but the bank denied me a loan when i got a promotion. Obviously, we didn’t get everything resolved fully in those eight days, but Max did get everything wrapped up in less than the 30 days it typically takes to close a mortgage. Furthermore, he simplified the process and required only half the documentation the previous bank had requested of me. I spoke with three other brokers before choosing to go with Max. I ultimately chose Max because his rates were very competitive, and his explanations made me very comfortable with what can be an intimidating process.

We had a very difficult situation due to the relocation and we were under tremendous pressure to get a loan under very tight time window. Great communication through email, phone and fax. Jori and Billie were great. This just shows that you don’t have to be local with a loan company to have a great experience. Explained what types of loans would best suit our needs they were very thorough. Would definitely reccomend.

We ultimately chose to hold off on buying to improve our loan amount and pay down a credit card we have first, even though we got the interest rates we wanted we decided a custom built home was best path for us. And didnt get the loan amount we were hoping for. With some tips Jori provided I think we will be ready by next year to move forward.

After reading all the horror stories on the internet about how hard it is for the self-employed to get approved for a mortgage and after having been put through mortgage approval nightmares by Pulte Mortgage, I was stressed and apprehensive when I located The Leaman Team. Pulte Mortgage had strung us out for 45 days and finally declined us leaving us only 3 days to find another lender or risk losing our $10,000 in earnest money. We knew we could do it, we just needed to find a lender that believed in us and that knew what they were doing! We found that in Max and his team, and even more. They are so prompt, efficient and caring during the whole process – I worried needlessly! He and Billie Ann did in three days what Pulte could not do in 45! We submitted our loan application on July 1st and closed on July 22nd in the comfort of our own home with no problems. Everyone at Max Leaman was very polite and prophessional.

We went from a 6% 30 year Chase mortgage (with 19 years left) to a 3.75% 15 year mortgage thru Max Leaman/Prime Lending. Not only did we knock off four years but our payment went down about $75 a month and we weren’t out of pocket any money at closing. The only bad part about the whole process was the mountain of paper work/information you have to come up with. Everything was done long distance over the phone/internet/US mail. We had the “Float Down Option” but it never triggered or took effect for us.
We would gladly use the Max Leaman team again and recommend them to others.

Just finished with a refinance. The whole process was seamless. I did the application on line.

They sent me an estimate, then ran my credit after I gave the green light. They sent me a GFE with closing costs included in the loan and an estimate with costs paid at closing. They requested basic documents which I faxed to them and that was it. None of the thousand times back and forth with something else they needed. Jori was great as were other employees and the title co. as well. We closed on time. The meeting at the title company was prompt and brief. A week later I checked to be sure my original mortgage had been paid off and it had. This was a great experience and it will save me lots and lots of money. Thanks.

I had not originally used Max on my first two attempts. Well, those two attempts were an absolute disaster and a waste of three months and a few thousand dollars. I left feeling defeated while questioning the process. Feeling like I had lost again I was referred to Max Leaman to see if he could save my second attempt. They were able to get a loan done on a property that the big box online low cost lender couldn’t do because of a technicality about the property. They were timely, communicative, and friendly every time. The Leaman team gave me very detailed lists of the information they needed to get the loans done, and they even helped me do a closing via UPS shipped documents instead of in person. It was challenging to find someone whol could do all 10. I ended up refinancing two with cash outs with a lender I had used many times in the past but who is not that nice to me. Then I found the Leaman team AND Jori. I have had a lot of experience in this area and this company is top notch. Even my title company said that the Austin Group, meaning the Max Leaman team, “had it all together.” Even though I was in Fort Worth, as are my properties, they worked with my favorite title company and got the job done.
This is what I like about Jori:
She did what she said she would do.
She returned calls very promptly, sometimes within minutes.
She was super nice, even when she found out I was refiancing two of my properties somewhere else.
Even when I needed to switch programs, she was still cool about it, and worked with me to make the best for me.
I know they are swamped, but when it was my turn, it was my turn, and I know that my file was a lot more complicated and time consuming than most yet she was very attendant to my issues and needs.
Billiie Ann, a co worker with Jori, was also especially prompt and courteous.
I felt like this company, through what I experienced through Jori and any other employee form the Leaman tam, was respectable, respectful, kind and courteous — and got the job done.
I have had much experience with mortgage companies in the last 15 years and Jori, Billie Ann with the Leman team are the best — by far.
I am now in the market to buy another home, for me to live in, and have already contacted Jori to assist in this purchase.
