Free and open to the public, the family-fun event will feature a Dallas Wind Symphony patriotic performance, reduced admission to Fair Park’s museums, live music, a children’s area, “dancing water” shows at the Esplanade Fountain, carnival games, plus a spectacular fireworks show sponsored by Gold Metal Recyclers. For the ultimate experience, guests are encouraged to watch the fireworks from inside the Cotton Bowl.
Enjoy a patriotic performance by the Grammy-nominated Dallas Wind Symphony at 8 p.m. in front of the Hall of State. Led by guest conductor Don McKinney of LSU in Baton Rouge, the Dallas Wind Symphony will perform its beloved Red, White and Blue Concert featuring July 4th favorites such as America the Beautiful, The Star-Spangled Banner, Washington Post March and more.

It’s Denton County’s most spectacular night, and has been for forty years! This year we will move to UNT’s beautiful new Apogee Stadium, so come on out for live music, followed by an awesome array of fireworks that light up the sky. The event is FREE, but donations are gladly accepted by our energetic “Bucket Brigade” before, during, and after the show. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., music begins at 6:30.

It’s that time of year again! Get ready to help us celebrate our nation’s freedom, loud and proud, at Independence Fest 2013.
Our full day of Independence Fest activities begins with our annual Children’s Parade at the LISD School Administration Building and concludes with a fantastic fireworks finale at around 9:45 PM that follows the free concert featuring Rick Springfield at Bakersfield Park.
Independence Fest 2013 will also host performances by The Walton Stout Band and Breaking Southwest; plus a vintage car show presented by Time Machine Car Shows, a showcase of our local businesses, food and drinks for the whole family, and a completely FREE Kid’s Zone complete with bounce houses, face painting, and more.
