I was extremely fortunate several years ago to have been referred by a realtor I trust to Amanda Stewart at The Leaman Team-Lending. Until I met Amanda, I had no idea this stellar level of customer service and professionalism existed in lending! In contrast, I cannot believe how I’ve allowed other lenders to treat me in the past. It’s kind of like dentistry- until you switch to a caring provider, you think all dentists could care less about pain.

I very rarely write reviews. But this will benefit a lot of people. This is how my last 2 home purchases have went with Amanda:

I asked for a loan. Amanda told me what documents to send her. She prequalified me. She locked in a rate. We closed 3 weeks later.
Plus, she found every possible way to save me money. She is attentive to detail and respects your time. Instead of attempting to list all her great attributes as a subject matter expert in mortgage lending- I can sum it all up with this: You will feel like you are her only client.
(Both title companies complimented her and her work as well)

After dealing with several lenders in Austin, I finally called Max Leaman.

I am a Realtor, and have several relationships in the mortgage business. I wish I would have been introduced to Max sooner. He is by far, the best in the business.

not only explaining the points of process for the entire loan procedure, but also providing excellent and accurate advice for financing maneuvers like HELOC and home equity loan. Communication was excellent on all fronts. The rates and terms offered were stellar. You can’t go wrong here.

Short answer: Compared three different companies. Their second offer was better than anyone else’s third offer.

We had a bit of a time pressure situation to make sure we could close in time; not only did they meet the deadline (the others all proposed a deadline extension), but they beat the deadline by enough that we ended up trying to figure out if we could advance the deadline to get us in the house earlier.

(Turns out you can’t do that. Not their fault, though.)

I’m writing this review while sitting in my house. Highly recommended.

Amazing! I can’t imagine how life would have been going somewhere else.

Extremely responsive, precise, fast with great customer service and a great team. We also contacted a bank with which we already do business to compare and with whom we had already secured a previous mortgage.

By far, the Leaman team, surpassed all expectations. They were professional, prompt, informative, and knowledgeable and although it took us more than four months to find a home, they were there every step of the way guiding us with information, facts, and figures that allowed us to make an informative and timely decision in the challenging housing market in Austin.

Jori Stern is outstanding and never missed a beat. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the level of communication from our bank. Jori often would answer emails within minutes; the bank would take days. As another reviewer pointed out, Jori consistently remains positive even though there were many times when the search for our next house seemed dismal.

Although we were hesitant at first not to use our bank, the great experience with the Leaman team made us wonder why we hadn’t accessed a private lender previously.

Without hesitation, my husband and I strongly would recommend the Leaman Team!
