Awesome Mortgage Loan Experience
I live in New York & recently purchased a 2nd home in the Austin area (Cedar Park) & the entire loan process was awesome. Max was very professional, he gave thorough explanations of the entire process (even repeatedly), he returned phone calls right away, & his attempt to win my business was very sincere (unlike many others I was also working with). All-in-all he was very friendly & true to his word that he would try his hardest to beat any of the other offers I received (which he did!). I can't help but to praise his services & although I never actually met him (my only regret in doing business from out of state), I would highly recommend Max to my friends & family or anyone else for that matter.

Max was great to work with!
I worked with Max and 2 other nationally recognized banks to get a mortgage. Max was the most responsive and crafted the best deal. As we moved through the process to provide all the credit and financial history docs, Max and his team were very helpful and responsive. Always easy to talk directly with.

I first worked with Max more than a year ago as a first-time homebuyer, and recently I refinanced my loan, again with Max. Both times I scoured the field for other options, and I found no-one better than Max. The process was very professional and straight forward; all estimates were in writing; there were no surprise fees or changes. (Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about several other organizations I looked into.) Max was easy to reach with questions, and he helped resolve the several issues that arose with due care and courtesy. I highly recommend Max for your mortgage needs.

Max made buying a home for the first time a great experience. I felt like he was very knowledgeable about the kind of loan I needed, very honest about the entire process and all the nuances of purchasing a home, and perhaps most important, I thought he had my best interests in mind. Max is always working, so if you have a burning question, he's quick to respond. I have already recommended Max a few times since getting in the house just a few weeks ago.

We love Max!
Max is great! He was incredibly helpful and supportive throughout our entire home buying process. As first-time buyers, it was important to my husband and I that we had someone who was willing and patient enough to go through every single detail step-by-step. We had met with 3 other mortgage/loan officers who either seemed incompetent, inpatient, rude, or were not experienced enough with our type of financial situation (my husband and I are both free-lance employees, so not the easiest loan clients). Right off the bat I could tell Max was going to be great. He was very personable, experienced, and patient. He exceeded our highest expectations. We had a particularly stressful and lengthy closing (6 months!) and he went above and beyond the entire time. He was always available to answer our questions, hear our frustrations, and provide all the information necessary to make the best decisions. Professional and reliable Mortgage Officer - Max is the one
As a first time homebuyer, I was thinking that the best mortgage service will be offered from the most popular banks but I was wrong. I have contacted with three mortgage officers from different banks and I was very disappointed from their service. I have to wait weeks to get some information from them and it was almost imposable to qualify for the desire FHA loan.
Finally, I ask my realtor for mortgage officer and he recommends Max.
Max helps me the imposable things to become a reality with such a professional manner.
Start working with Max improves my financial situation and I was approved for the desire mortgage amount. I received an approval letter at the some day ,after I submit all of the documents.
Max is very knowledgeable and following his advices I get a mortgage with great interest rate and low expenses.
I truly recommend Max to be your mortgage officer. He will makes the financial process to be very smooth with no stress.

Max provided funding for three rental properties. All three are in South Austin and in excellent neighborhoods. All three are recently built (within the last 10 years).
The application process was extremely easy as it was an electronic form. There were some follow up phone calls to us to explain some issues having more depth but the process was fast, efficient, and personable. We qualified for some excellent rates but normally would have expected to have an increased rate for the third property but Max worked diligently and forwarded additional information that qualified us for the same lower rate on the third property. Max is exceptionally knowledgeable and very personable. We enjoyed the financing experience and its outcome. Max was at each closing to provide any background information and to confirm all data was current and available. I highly recommend his services.

Great Rate on a Refi
Max helped me get a great rate on my refinance, considering I don't have the greatest credit score. It was a painless experience when compared to my first loan. I'm very glad I picked Max. I had seen a number of good reviews online and he came with a strong recommendation from my realtor. In our initial meeting Max explained the whole process to me, start to finish, things to watch out for, and the various choices I would need to make. His integrity and honesty were apparent right away, and I decided to hire him pretty much on the spot. Max came to my aid with creative solutions every time I ran into a hiccup during the process. For example, I was changing jobs at the time of the purchase, and he worked with me to satisfy the bank's employment verification process. He saved me half a point on the interest rate by letting me lock down the rate at the most beneficial time, rather than waiting until closing. And he was extremely honest about the source and use of each line item (fee) on the loan paperwork. All of the other lenders I'd looked at had higher rates, gimmicky deals that were bad for me in the long run, and tended to lump all the fees together so that you couldn't easily compare lenders. Max even attended my closing to be sure nothing went wrong. Even now, almost two months later, and even though my note was sold to Wells Fargo, I can reach Max any time with questions about servicing the loan. I fully intend to use Max's services for buying or selling houses as long as he's in business -- which I hope is a very long time indeed.

Well, here I am...finally writing my recommendation for Max Leaman. They say people are only truly inspired to write negative reviews, but as you can see here, the opposite is true of Max. I had the unexpected pleasure of working with Max on my first home purchase. I say unexpected as my realtor turned out to be, shall we say, less than professional...and yet he brought me to Max, the perfect blend of professional yet familiar, knowledgeable yet open-minded. Max went far and above what I could ever have expected of a lender, and despite the fact that I still haven't opened that savings account and apparently can't identify him from Adam at the airport...I greatly value his advice and counsel. In sum, I highly recommend Max. You will not find a more dedicated lender...even if he makes you reconsider the wisdom of that daily Starbucks. Yes, I quit Starbucks, Max. Baby steps.

I'm looking into a refinance/home equity loan, and I called Max Leaman because of all the good reviews. Despite determining right off the bat that he probably wasn't the best guy to help me, and giving me a recommendation for someone to talk to, Max stayed on the phone with me and patiently explained the ins and outs of Texas loan statutes, what to expect from different institutions, etc. He even called me back when the connection died. All this for someone who's not even a customer. That earns 5 stars in my book.

Max is the BEST!
I was a first-time home buyer, and Max made the whole process as stress-free as possible. He answered all my questions and put my mind at ease every step of the way. When any possible problems arose, Max always had a solution. In fact, I don't know if I would even own a house today if not for Max. He went above and beyond. I felt like he was looking out for me throughout the whole process, from anticipating any possible hiccups with the mortgage insurance to keeping a close eye on the interest rates and knowing when to lock in. We were referred to Max by a friend, and as first time homebuyers we were a little nervous. Low Rates and SUPERIOR Service
We interviewed and reserached several lenders and brokers for our recent home purchase and decided to go with Max. We chose Max because had very competitive rates, lots of positive reviews, and he was VERY RESPONSIVE. We were not disapppointed. We closed on our house a few weeks ago and were very impressed with Max's level of service. Max was a wealth of information on the various financing options available to us. The loan process was fast and painless. We scheduled both the sale of our previous home and the purchase of the new one on the same day AND CLOSED IN LESS THAN 30 DAYS!!

Great Experience
Max is an excellent lender. He was attentive and worked expeditiously to get my loan approved. Before going to Max, I was working with Mark Abernathery of Capstar Lending. Mr. Abernathey literally treated me like scum. He yelled at me said things to truely hurt my feelings. I was in shock. However, Max changed all that. Superb experience with Max Leaman
Max has handled two transactions for me: first, the financing of the purchasing of my townhome and then the refinancing of my mortgage. He is without a doubt one of the most competent, responsive, personable, and service-oriented professionals I have ever worked with. He goes the extra mile to help with all aspects of the finance process. I was particularly impressed with how completely Max's interests are aligned with that of his customers. For instance, when I first went to see him about the possibility of refinancing my mortgage, he went over the figures with me to make sure that it would be advantageous to me financially to refinance. The fact that he would make more money if I chose to refinance was not his first concern. Rather, his concern was making sure that my best interests were served. As near perfect as you can get.
The home buying process is designed, for reasons passing my personal understanding, to be a long, arduous, exasperatingly painful process. Max and his team remove a great deal of that confusion. The BEST!!
Max was referred to us by a co-worker of my husband at the RRFD. We initially contacted Max over the phone and he invited us to meet with him at his office. From this first meeting, we felt like Max was on our side and knew that he would take care of us through the home-buying process. He explained the process in detail and we felt comfortable with and confident in him. Our pre-approval and approvals were handled very quickly and with little effort on our part, Max took care of it all!
As we were preparing to buy our new house, we were also selling a house. And the buyers of our house were selling a house in Hawaii, which made for un-timely communication from them and different laws/regulations. It was a series of transactions that were dependent on each other and when the Hawaii deal started to fall apart, it was Max who stepped in and worked closely with our buyer's buyer's lender. He was in constant communication with them and he basically held their hands (and ours) through a very difficult and frustrating time.
We know without a doubt that had we gone with another lender, they would not have been nearly as involved in trying to make all of these back to back transactions happen. Max went above and beyond what normal lenders would do and we appreciate all his efforts. It was a crazy roller coaster ride, but the end result was exactly what we wanted, we got our new house with a great interest rate and we sold our old house!
Our Realtor saw Max in action through this process and she now uses him as a recommended lender for her clients. We highly recommend Max!

Personable and professional
Max helped my wife and I get a loan to buy our house in 2006 and then helped us this year to refinance that loan to today's lower rates. Max is both a personable and a professional mortgage broker. I bought my first house a month or two ago, and Max was really great about walking me through the mortgage process. Max helped us with our mortgage in the summer of 2009 and I'm so pleased that we had the opportunity to work with him.
To start, we were living outside of the area and put in bids on more than one house. Each time Max was there to help us and make sure that this house would be the right fit (financially) for us to get into.
Once we were in Austin and found the right house Max helped us to understand Texas property tax and other things that were different than our past experiences. He had a great relationship with our Realtor as well which made everything that much easier. The Right Man for The Job
About five years ago, I made the biggest purchase of my life...A house! However, this was no small feat. It all started with a close, personal friend and my realtor suggesting I meet with this loan officer named Max. I set up an appointment to meet with Max to discuss my financial capabilities. Max told me some things, which at the time, sort of discouraged me.
You have to remember these were the good old days of mortgage lending when every tom, dick, and harry got a fly-by-night adjustable rate loan. Not that I was looking for that, but I did want instant gratification. What I got, instead, was actually, in hindsight, really good advice from Max. He suggested that I not go for the "anyone-can-qualify" loan and instead save up some more money and obtain a more secure loan. So, a monetary goal was agreed upon by Max and I, and the hardest part of the process began....Saving!
Needless to say, I reached my goal. In roughly 10 months I had saved the money and was back to knocking on Max's door. With my end of the bargain being met, it was time for Max to work his magic. Max did his best to educate me and hold my hand through every step of the loan process. I must say it was a little intimidating at first. Its a lot of numbers to compute and papers to sign. Never once did I feel like I was being taken for a ride or rushed on through so he could get to the next guy. I felt very trusting of Max the whole time. And in the wake of the financial crisis and the housing bubbles I felt vindicated in my choice of loan officers. The sound advice and the great service I received from Max left such an impression on me that I now recommend him to ALL of my family and friends.
In fact, I just re-financed my house to take advantage of the shockingly low interest rates, and the second time around was even easier then the first! I can't say enough good things about this guy, so you'll just have to see for yourselves . . .

We rented a house with a fenced in yard, sight unseen, on the east side of 15th and Airport when we moved to Austin from Atlanta. It served it's purpose, but 3 months after our wedding we decided to buy a house. My mom wanted us to use a Jewish real estate agent, and so began our house hunting with Josh Bushner, who was recommended to us by Rabbi Freedman.
Josh said we needed to talk to a mortgage lender also. He recommended a guy that sounded trust worthy, but I couldn't believe who he was. Mr. Max Leaman.
Max and I went to college together and lost touch after graduation. He house sat for me once and I figured if I could trust him with basically everything I owned, I could certainly trust him to be fair and accurate. He was and still is. He even set an alarm to go off when the rates get low enough so we can refinance to have a lower mortgage. He's a hell of a guy, and you can bet the ONLY one I'll ever use in Austin.

First Time Homebuyer

My wife and I were given Max’s name from our realtor with high recommendation. At this point we had already locked in a lender, however decided to give Max a call, just in case. Great Place for a Home mortgageI was recommended to Max Leaman through a real estate agent. Although I did not buy through the agent I decided to try Max for the loan on the home I did decide to purchase. Throughout the process he kept me updated and when I inquired about why he had not locked in my loan he said he thought rates would go down and he wanted to wait. He also promised that I would not pay more than what he quoted originally. The rates did fall and he locked in my loan at that time saving me more money. He could have locked it in at first and secured his end of the loan, but really did show he was working for me.

Max Leaman, best in show!
I had the pleasure of buying my first house with Max and he made the endless maze of paperwork and obstacles seem like a cakewalk compared to the experiences I've heard from others. He worked closely with my Realtor and helped me find the right financial arrangement to fit my situation. I can safely say that my home buying experience was smooth and simple with Max's expert guidance. I would recommend him to anyone trying to buy in the Austin area!

Max was incredibly accessible, accurate and efficient. We have been snakebit by mortgage loan officers in the past - lost paperwork, last minute add-on costs, and this experience was totally different. He responded to my on-line request the same day, quoted figures the same day, and I completed the paperwork on-line which was so efficient. His rates were very favorable to others we looked at. He clearly knows his business, always answered questions fully and clearly, and followed up regularly to insure things moved along without delay. Apparently he attends all his closings, which we also liked - it gave me confidence that we would avoid any last minute problems, though we didn't have any. We finished in less than one hour. This can be a stressful process, so we also appreciated his easy-going humorous personality. I'd highly recommend Max to any of our friends and relatives!

There is not enough amazing things I can say about Max and the mortgage experience. He is AWESOME! Simpliest transaction ever, no stress, no worries, no SURPRISES!!! I would recomment Max to anyone and everyone!

Max, the mortgage super hero!
I love Max. He made my house buying process so easy, in fact, he had me approved before I'd ever entered his office. It could not have been easier - he did everything for me. In fact, even after closing, and the loan had been sold to Citi, Max still advocated for me when there was an issue with the escrow fund. He's a genius, very reliable, efficient and smart!! Absolutely, he's the best!
